Highview #1 + #2
Wulff Architects, Inc. was commissioned by BPG Development Company, LP. in the spring of 2002 to create a master site plan for the Highview Corporate Center. The project spanned 50 acres and consisted in 5 buildings totaling 500,000 sf. The initial phase, buildings One and Two was developed for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, whose main campus abutted the north border of the site. These two buildings, totaling 180,000 sf, utilized the dramatic sloping topography to create a central courtyard as a focal point. Eventually, a third building will frame the north side of this courtyard, leaving southern views open to the sun. The floor plans utilize the same "recessed-W" shape of Wulff Architects, Inc.'s 1200 Liberty Ridge building. This allowed for efficient planning and created a sheltered outdoor seating area. The exterior is a "100-year" wall system of panelized brick that reduced the construction schedule by one month. The buildings have been 100% occupied since completion and were both finalists for "The Best Suburban Real Estate Deal" in 2005.
